The role of Convention Services Manager at Fontainebleau Miami Beach is vital to ensuring the seamless planning, coordination, and execution of group and convention events held at the hotel. This position works closely with the Director of Catering and Convention Services and serves as the main point of contact between clients and hotel departments from pre-arrival through post-departure phases. The Convention Services Manager is responsible for managing the entire group or convention program, guaranteeing that every detail aligns with Fontainebleau's high standards and the client’s expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years convention services, catering and hotel operations experience in a large convention hotel
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, administration, or related discipline preferred
  • Strong culinary and beverage knowledge and interest
  • Proven ability to plan and organize events effectively with acute attention to detail
  • Assertive, professional, and positive approach
  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests, and employees
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Manage and execute the terms of the contract for group, convention, and program as outlined by the sales manager and Fontainebleau standards
  • Maximize food, beverage and auxiliary revenues by selling menus, themes, and experiences/activities
  • Communicate all details of assigned groups, conventions, weddings, and programs to all departments professionally and timely using Convention and Social Group Resumes, Banquet Event Orders, and internal correspondence
  • Establish close working relationships with clients and Fontainebleau team members
  • Efficiently reserve and utilize function space to maximize revenues while minimizing space consumption
  • Facilitate pre-conference meetings with clients and key hotel staff
  • Work closely with clients and hotel departments throughout assigned programs to provide assistance and information as needed
