Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is an acclaimed luxury hotel and convention center situated in the vibrant heart of downtown Oklahoma City. This impressive 605-room hotel offers guests a blend of comfort and sophistication, featuring six food and beverage outlets, a renowned Mokara Spa, a fitness center, a rooftop pool, and an extensive 76,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The hotel enjoys a prime location adjacent to the Paycom Center, home of the OKC Thunder, the Oklahoma Convention Center, and just across from the beautifully landscaped 70-acre Scissortail Park. The role of Convention Services Manager at Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a pivotal one, responsible for orchestrating the seamless execution of conferences and events within one of the city’s most elite venues. This role demands a professional who can efficiently coordinate banquet functions and meeting room arrangements in direct collaboration with meeting planners and clients. The manager acts as the essential liaison between the client and the hotel, ensuring all event details are communicated clearly and executed flawlessly across all departments.

In addition to overseeing event preparation, the Convention Services Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the hotel’s prominent position in the local market's social and corporate communities. They are involved in business development by generating high revenue-yielding events, managing client relationships to achieve consistently high satisfaction scores, and ensuring the hotel’s operational standards in event delivery are met through rigorous pre- and post-conference collaboration. The manager’s leadership extends to ensuring all staff adhere to the hotel’s standard operating procedures and selling policies, while also being proactive in upselling departmental revenue opportunities.

This full-time position requires flexibility, including working on weekends and holidays, reflecting the 24-hour operational demands of this luxury hotel. Candidates should bring extensive experience in conference services, ideally from large convention hotels, and demonstrate strong technical capabilities with key hotel management software. Preferred candidates will have experience managing complex, multifaceted conventions and hold industry-recognized designations such as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). Job Requirements

  • proficiency in microsoft office suite and hotel management software
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • experience managing large conventions and events
  • professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications

  • flexible work hours include weekends and holidays to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
  • must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in conference services, preferably as manager at a large convention hotel
  • appropriate, professional appearance and presentation
  • strong computer knowledge, with technical ability and/or aptitude to fully use microsoft word, delphi, excel, outlook, and other management systems
  • experience in citywide conferences required
  • luxury or upper-upscale experience preferred
  • exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle very large, complex, multifaceted conventions
  • excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • cmp or similar industry designation preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare resumes for groups ten days prior to group arrival and review all details in the weekly staff meeting
  • adhere to the catering and conference services department's standard operating procedures
  • help establish and maintain the hotel's marketplace position at the city's most elite venue within social and corporate communities
  • follow the specific standard operation procedures for all staff to promptly and thoroughly handle all steps in the event planning process adhering to the standards of hotel protocol
  • ensure all site inspections and client visits to the hotel are successful by planning carefully and communicating accurate details in advance to all departments
  • proactively achieve consistently high medallia scores through establishing a good rapport with the client, preparation work having been done accurately and being visible during the conference to ensure the client's expectations have been met
  • generate high revenue yielding business for all contracted rooms, function space, and catered events
