With a diverse portfolio of properties nationwide, HVMG emphasizes a culture of excellence that permeates every aspect of its organizational environment. Its commitment to fostering career development and providing outstanding service positions HVMG as a desirable employer for individuals passionate about growth and hospitality excellence. The company's ethos is best captured by its 'Be Excellent' culture, a core value that associates and management alike embrace. Employees often commend the supportive and transparent management style, which encourages internal career progression and values every role's potential as a stepping stone to higher leadership positions. Within HVMG, the hotel business is viewed as a field where successful career paths can start anywhere in the organizational chart, promoting a meritocratic and empowering workplace. For example, a team member might start in an entry-level role and, through dedication and company support, advance all the way to senior leadership. This philosophy highlights HVMG's unique culture that integrates respect, inclusiveness, and opportunity.
The role of a Convention Services Manager at HVMG is a pivotal position that requires a professional with excellent organizational and communication skills and a keen eye for detail in the execution of group events. As a Convention Services Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of group functions from initial planning to the event's conclusion, ensuring that every meeting, conference, or convention runs seamlessly. This includes serving as the primary liaison between clients and various hotel departments, guaranteeing that client expectations are clearly understood and met to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will manage all event logistics, create Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), prepare group resumes, communicate with the hotel team, and identify upselling and enhancement opportunities to maximize event success and hotel revenue. Operating under the guidance of the Director of Sales (Director of Catering/Convention Services), this role provides comprehensive exposure to the full spectrum of hotel operations, making it an excellent stepping stone for career advancement into catering, group sales, food and beverage, or broader hotel management.
