The Convention Services Manager role at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is a dynamic and critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of group conferences, meetings, and special events hosted at the resort. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing complex, multi-day events with large attendance numbers, ensuring every detail is executed flawlessly to create a “beyond expectations” experience for clients and guests. The Manager will coordinate key event elements such as room setups, audio-visual needs, and catering menus, while collaborating closely with event planners and multiple internal departments to guarantee seamless operations. With a focus on optimizing revenue, the Convention Services Manager will also prospect for social event opportunities and recommend menu enhancements and resort amenities tailored to client needs, contributing positively to the financial performance of the convention services department.

Additionally, prior sales experience to up-sell food, beverage, and meeting room services will be advantageous. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required to support the detailed planning and administrative components of the role.

- previous experience in a large hotel or resort with event space of at least 75,000 sq. ft. and heavy group volume
- 2-5 years of catering manager or conference services manager experience
- experience managing large, complex events with 1,000+ people
- ability to negotiate changes in complex programs

- competency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- previous sales experience is preferred
