This specific role is within the Food and Beverage department focused on Event and Convention Set-Up at the Disneyland Resort Hotels. Working in this position means being part of a fast-paced luxury hotel environment where meticulous attention to detail and high standards are essential to ensure every event and convention is flawlessly executed. The Convention Set-Up Cast Member plays a vital role in preparing event and banquet spaces according to specific event orders and contracts. This includes organizing tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, and other materials necessary for the event’s success.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and layout plans, setting up dining and meeting areas, maintaining cleanliness throughout the event duration, and assisting kitchen staff with transporting food products. The role requires physical stamina, as team members frequently move heavy equipment and supplies throughout their shifts, which often exceed eight hours. The position demands flexibility for working various shifts throughout a 24/7 operation including weekends, holidays, and early mornings or late nights to accommodate the resort's dynamic schedule.

The pay for this role starts at $21.13 per hour plus tips, reflecting the specialized skills and dedication required to operate within such a prestigious environment. Job Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
  • At least 1 year of experience working in banquets, event set up, or construction environment
  • At least 1 year of customer or guest service experience
  • Willing to take initiative to actively greet and welcome guests
  • Comfortable working independently with limited supervision and direction
  • Comfortable working a physically demanding role for 8+ hours a day
  • Flexibility and willingness to jump in when necessary
  • Sense of urgency and desire to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience working in banquets, event set up, or construction environment
  • At least 1 year of customer or guest service experience
  • Willing to take initiative to actively greet and welcome guests
  • Comfortable working independently with limited supervision and direction
  • Comfortable working a physically demanding role for 8+ hours a day
  • Flexibility and willingness to jump in when necessary
  • Sense of urgency and desire to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment
  • Preferred: 1 or more years of experience within a luxury hotel environment
  • Preferred: 1 or more years of experience within an upscale, table-service dining environment
  • Preferred: bilingual

Job Duties

  • Responsible for setting up banquet event space according to banquet event order forms and event contracts
  • Obtain, assemble, and arrange tables and chairs, risers, podiums, lecterns, pianos, and dance floors for banquet events
  • Read and interpret blueprints and banquet event order forms to ensure correct placement and arrangement
  • Adjust air walls and other meeting room equipment as necessary
  • Stage and plate silverware, glassware, and all table accoutrements for event in designated lay down area
  • May assist with placement of event materials and/or favors at guest place settings or seats
  • Vacuum, dust, mop, and perform general cleaning in meeting and event rooms
  • Assist kitchen staff with transport of all food product to and from the event area
  • Gather all necessary materials/equipment for event operations
  • Segregate and remove trash, garbage, and cardboard from kitchen or prep area
  • Maintain and operate Park Banquet vehicles
  • Lift, push, and pull 50+ pounds of equipment constantly throughout shift
