Andreessen Horowitz, commonly known as a16z, is a premier venture capital firm founded in 2009 in Silicon Valley by prominent entrepreneurs Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz. Known for its disruptive vision in backing bold entrepreneurs, a16z invests across various developmental stages including seed, venture, and growth-stage technology companies. These investments span diverse sectors such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology and healthcare, consumer products, cryptocurrency, enterprise solutions, fintech, gaming, and initiatives aimed at revitalizing American dynamism. With an impressive $90 billion in assets under management spread across multiple funds, a16z has established itself as a formidable player in the venture capital landscape. The firm prides itself on its respect for entrepreneurs and deep understanding of the company-building journey, rooted in its own founders' experiences. Its impressive portfolio includes industry-changing companies like Anduril, Airbnb, Coinbase, Cursor, Databricks, Deel, Figma, GitHub, Roblox, SpaceX, and Stripe, truly highlighting a16z’s commitment to shaping the future through technology.
The Go-To-Market (GTM) Network team at a16z plays a critical role in accelerating revenue generation and market entry for its portfolio companies. This team consists of accomplished professionals with expertise in sales, marketing, consulting, product management, and business development. They have developed an extensive C-level executive network that helps portfolio companies establish powerful connections and fast-track growth. The GTM team is dedicated to enabling and supporting marketing, sales, services, and customer success teams by creating an optimal environment fostering business partnerships and accelerating time-to-market.
The role available on the GTM team is designed for an exceptionally detail-oriented individual who thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and possesses outstanding critical thinking skills. The successful candidate will have excellent coordination abilities, superior time management skills, and the capacity to pivot quickly between priorities while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include acting as the primary on-site contact for assigned GTM executive briefings and events, collaborating with cross-functional teams in planning and executing a range of high-profile events such as executive briefings, dinners, receptions, and virtual meetings involving C-level executives, portfolio companies, and strategic partners. The role involves overseeing all event logistics from venue sourcing, catering, vendor management, and audiovisual arrangements to day-of-event coordination and troubleshooting.
This in-office role requires flexibility to operate between a16z’s San Francisco and Menlo Park offices up to five days per week. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-driven, and able to build strong relationships within the team and across multiple stakeholders. They must have experience with relevant event and communication tools including Google Workspace, Salesforce, BriefingSource, and Zoom. This position offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the success of innovative companies at the forefront of technology, while working within a culture that values integrity, long-term relationships, diversity, and collective success. The anticipated hourly rate ranges between $50.00 and $55.00, dependent on experience and skills.
