Job Description
Ardaman & Associates, Inc. is a leading geotechnical engineering and materials testing consulting firm based in the Southeastern United States. Established with a commitment to providing high-quality, reliable services, Ardaman has accumulated extensive experience through its involvement in over 150,000 projects across the Southeast, the broader U.S., and globally. The firm specializes in offering expert services for a wide range of clients including public agencies and private enterprises involved in industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. Ardaman's reputation is marked by its technical expertise, innovative approach, and dedication to client satisfaction, making it one of the most trusted names in the geotechnical and construction testing industry.
The company is currently seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician for its Baton Rouge, Louisiana location. This full-time role is vital in ensuring the quality and safety of construction materials used in various projects across Southeast Louisiana. The technician will primarily be responsible for performing field sampling, testing, and observation of soils, concrete, and other construction materials. Approximately 80 to 90 percent of this role involves working on-site at different construction locations, which demands a hands-on approach and flexibility in working conditions.
This position requires a professional eager to contribute to the quality assurance processes that support the integrity of construction projects. It offers a dynamic environment where technicians gain valuable experience working on diverse projects while supporting engineers and project managers in delivering structural excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an ability to work well with others. Ardaman emphasizes safety, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards, underscoring the importance of certifications such as NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies), ACI (American Concrete Institute), and Radiation Safety for Nuclear Density Gauge use, though these are preferred and not mandatory.
Ardaman encourages career growth and development and values technicians who bring a positive attitude and dedication to their work. The role involves lifting and handling equipment up to 50 lbs and requires a valid and safe driving record. Additionally, willingness to work weekends, overtime, and out-of-town assignments is necessary due to the nature of fieldwork demands.
The company offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and participation in a 401(k) plan with company match, contributing to a comprehensive and supportive employee experience. Ardaman is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusive hiring practices that consider all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender, or veteran status. As a subsidiary of Tetra Tech and a federal contractor, Ardaman also requests priority referrals for veterans and upholds a drug-free workplace policy.
This role represents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in construction materials testing within a reputable and stable organization dedicated to quality and safety in engineering projects.
