The role of Owners Representative Construction Manager - Data Center, based in Montgomery, AL, is a contract position with a duration of 30 months, starting in June 2026. The position offers a competitive pay rate of up to $100 per hour with additional per diem benefits for relocation or travel, along with three weeks of paid time off. This role is fundamental to the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects, with a specific focus on data centers and mission-critical environments. The Construction Manager will be charged with overseeing every facet of the project, from preconstruction planning through to closeout. Responsibilities include managing daily field activities, controlling costs, coordinating with general contractors and vendors, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards as specified in the construction documents.

The Construction Manager will also act as the primary liaison between the DC Ops Field Management, the Sr. Field Ops Construction Program Manager, and various project teams to guarantee strategic and tactical alignment throughout the project lifecycle. This incumbent must exhibit proficiency in cost tracking, scheduling, quality assurance, and project documentation. The role demands excellent leadership skills to manage the flow of information, resolve issues proactively, and sustain robust professional relationships with internal partners, designers, consultants, and contractors. Commitment to an Injury-Free Environment (IFE) is crucial, emphasizing the importance of safety culture on site. This position is strictly onsite, providing the candidate with immersive involvement in the project environment to drive progress and compliance effectively.

Ideal candidates will possess 5 to 10 years of experience in construction management related to large-scale projects, preferably within data centers or other critical facility contexts. Knowledge of various construction delivery methods, including design-build, design-bid-build, CM-at Risk, and Design Assist, is essential. Advanced competencies in project management software such as MS Project, Procore, and Microsoft Teams will support efficient project execution. Educational qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, with professional certifications like CCM, PMI, or PMP being highly preferred. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check as a condition of employment.
