Job Description

Dennis Group is an established leader in the design and construction of food and beverage processing facilities, specializing exclusively in the food industry for over three decades. Known for their expertise in planning, designing, engineering, and building food plants, Dennis Group partners with major brands both nationally and internationally to help bring popular food products from concept to grocery shelves. Their dedication to the food and beverage sector sets them apart as a niche company that understands the unique requirements of industrial and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) projects in this specialized market. With headquarters and project locations primarily across the United States and Canada, they offer an environment committed to innovation, quality, and safety.

The Construction Manager role at Dennis Group is a vital position requiring leadership in overseeing daily site construction operations for industrial projects. The person in this role will act as the project site supervisor responsible for coordinating sub-contractors, enforcing site safety programs, managing the project schedule, and controlling budgets. This includes extensive collaboration with engineering teams, architects, and design professionals to ensure seamless project execution. The Construction Manager’s responsibilities include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, project accounting, cost management, and project reporting. Because projects can span 6 to over 12 months, managing these elements effectively ensures successful delivery within scope and timeline.

Professionals in this role are expected to work autonomously on medium-sized projects, demonstrating strong communication and organizational skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, building officials, and internal teams. Leadership extends to supervising junior construction managers or field engineers when directed. The position demands a balance of on-site fieldwork and office-based management tasks, requiring proficiency with construction management tools and the ability to interpret complex construction documents, schedules, and regulations.

Travel is a significant component of the role, with up to 100 percent overnight travel across the United States and Canada based on project assignments. The work schedule follows a pattern of 10 days onsite followed by 4 days off, making it suited for candidates who thrive in dynamic environments and can handle rigorous physical demands, including site inspections in various weather conditions and lifting up to 50 pounds. Altogether, the job offers a challenging but rewarding career opportunity for candidates passionate about construction management within the food and beverage industry.

Dennis Group provides competitive compensation packages commensurate with the candidate's experience and offers a comprehensive benefits program that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, paid time off with an open vacation policy, as well as bonus, profit-sharing, and retirement plans. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and fosters a diverse, inclusive, and supportive workplace environment where talent development and mentoring are valued.
