The Construction Manager role at Dennis Group is a critical on-site leadership position responsible for overseeing daily construction activities on industrial food processing projects. This is a full-time, field-based role located primarily in Lincoln, NE, though significant travel is required—up to 100%—to construction projects throughout the USA and potentially Canada. Projects typically last 6 to 12 months or more, and the travel schedule involves 10 days on-site followed by 4 days off. As a Construction Manager, you will be the project site supervisor responsible for coordinating subcontractors, ensuring site safety, managing project schedules and budgets, and maintaining smooth communication between all stakeholders—owners, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and internal teams. The role demands strong technical skills to effectively utilize construction software, interpret drawings, perform engineering calculations, and maintain thorough project documentation. You will also handle contract administration, project planning and scheduling, permitting, inspections, and close-out activities.

The Construction Manager will often work autonomously on medium-sized industrial projects. Key responsibilities include managing field engineers and junior managers when directed, overseeing process, mechanical, and utility equipment installations, administering change orders, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Our construction sites involve uneven terrain and exposure to typical on-site hazards, so physical stamina and on-call availability are essential.
