Currently, Michael Baker International is expanding its construction services team in Michigan and is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead bridge, highway, and rail projects. This role is ideal for a transportation-focused construction leader who can effectively manage high-quality construction services while supporting business growth and fostering strong client relationships. The Construction Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects primarily for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and various local agencies. Responsibilities also include strategic involvement in business development efforts to win new contracts and expand the company's portfolio.

The Construction Manager will lead and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring strict compliance with contract documents, budgets, schedules, and safety standards. They will supervise and train construction personnel, ensure certifications and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) adherence, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, clients, and field teams to address and resolve project challenges while maintaining progress.

Documentation is a critical aspect of the role, including preparing and reviewing daily reports, meeting notes, change orders, supplemental agreements, and project closeout materials. Managing construction change order administration and overseeing inspector performance also fall within the responsibilities. Furthermore, the Construction Manager will assist design teams with constructability reviews during plan development, support contract negotiations, and participate in schedule development and resource planning.

In addition to project oversight, the Construction Manager will actively engage in business development activities such as marketing, proposal preparation, stakeholder meetings, and building healthy client relationships that ensure satisfaction and identify future business opportunities. The estimated yearly salary range for this position is $101,207 to $165,335, contingent upon education, qualifications, experience, skill set, and work location.
