Job Description
The Thrasher Group is a respected full-service architecture, engineering, and field services consulting firm with a long-standing record of project success throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Their expertise spans across five core markets: architecture, land development, water resources, transportation, and energy, allowing them to deliver comprehensive professional services tailored to diverse construction and infrastructure needs. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction, The Thrasher Group continually adapts to evolving industry standards and technological advancements to maintain its competitive edge and foster sustained growth.
The Thrasher Group is currently seeking a Construction and Materials Testing Specialist to join their dynamic and growing team. This hybrid role combines responsibilities in both material testing and construction inspection, making it ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on field environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development within a supportive firm known for its collaborative culture and family-oriented values. The position emphasizes quality assurance and compliance across a broad range of construction projects, requiring technical expertise, keen attention to detail, and proactive communication with project stakeholders. The successful candidate will be involved in the sampling and testing of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soil, closely monitoring construction progress to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
Key responsibilities include interpreting civil construction plans and specifications, maintaining accurate records such as daily reports and redline drawings, and reporting findings in clear written documentation. The Specialist will ensure quality standards are met and take preventative measures to avoid construction defects. Flexibility is important, as this role involves travel to multiple project sites, potential night shift assignments, and the willingness to support other divisions as needed. Continuous skill development is encouraged through certification courses and on-the-job learning.
This position not only focuses on technical skills but also values safety, teamwork, and adaptability. The Thrasher Group provides a supportive work environment with professional development opportunities, structured goal setting, and performance bonuses. Employees benefit from schedule flexibility that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and are subject to pre-employment drug screening and background checks. The Thrasher Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and E-Verify employer, dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
