Job Description
Church on the Rock is a vibrant and welcoming faith community dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and meaningful connections among its members and visitors. As a dynamic church committed to impacting lives through the teachings of Jesus Christ, it provides a variety of ministries, events, and services aimed at encouraging fellowship, spiritual development, and community support. The Church on the Rock emphasizes creating an inviting atmosphere where individuals and families can experience authentic joy and belonging while growing deeper in their faith journey. It operates with a set of core values focused on integrity, unity, and humility, nurturing an environment that reflects the love and teachings of Christ. Located in Wasilla, this church serves as a spiritual home for many and actively engages the community through outreach programs and dedicated ministries tailored to meet diverse needs. The church also integrates modern tools and technology to enhance worship experiences and community management, ensuring that every visitor receives attentive care and support. The Connections Director role is a pivotal position within Church on the Rock, reporting directly to the Campus Pastor and playing a critical part in nurturing the church's welcoming culture. This role is designed as a part-time, hourly position with a maximum of 15 hours per week, ideal for individuals passionate about ministry and community building within a faith-based environment. The primary responsibility of the Connections Director is to oversee the First Impressions ministry, assimilation processes, and guest services, ensuring that every new and returning guest feels welcomed, valued, and connected to the broader church community. This includes managing and resourcing the Welcome Center, coordinating serve teams such as Greeters, Ushers, and Welcome Center volunteers, and maintaining up-to-date information and resources for guests and members. The Connections Director facilitates Sunday services, special events, and assimilation efforts by making certain that every detail is handled with care and professionalism. Beyond guest interaction, this role encompasses administrative duties such as submitting purchase requests for pastoral approval, partnering on budget management, and ensuring that guest information is accurately recorded for follow-up communications. Strong leadership skills are essential in recruiting, training, and supervising serve teams, fostering a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm among volunteers. The Connections Director also assists guests with church applications and event sign-ups, helping to integrate newcomers smoothly into church life. Moreover, the position involves a commitment to live and serve according to the Gospel's calling, demonstrating integrity, humility, effective communication, and discretion in all interactions. This role is instrumental in supporting the church's mission by providing leadership, care, and guidance within the ministry, ultimately helping to build a thriving, connected, and spiritually enriched congregation.
