Job Description
The Conferences & Events Manager role is a critical leadership position within a dynamic organization dedicated to facilitating impactful global events and conferences. This position is tailored for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and is passionate about ensuring seamless event logistics across various ministries and campuses. Our organization operates within a church context, focusing on church-wide and global events that require careful, strategic planning, coordination, and execution. We are looking for an individual who can serve as the Event Logistics Lead, boasting strong organizational skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams efficiently.
This full-time, exempt salary position reports directly to the Director of Campus Logistics & Events and offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of all logistical aspects of our conferences and global functions. The Conferences & Events Manager will collaborate closely with the Event Visionary & Ministry Lead, the Events Lead Team, and various departments to create a cohesive execution strategy that respects the vision and mission of the church. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of budget management, event timelines, and team leadership, providing a critical interface between the church's goals and the operational elements that make large-scale events successful.
The Conferences & Events Manager serves as the budget Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Global Events budget, offering financial oversight and resource allocation expertise. In addition to budget management, the manager will be responsible for creating reusable event templates and timelines that multiple ministries and campuses can adapt, promoting consistency and efficiency across all events. Building and leading a dedicated team, referred to as the Conferences & Events Dream Team, is another essential component of the role. This team will be driven by a SERVE Model philosophy, emphasizing service, collaboration, and excellence.
Effective ticketing management is a vital part of the job, including administrating the Brushfire ticketing system to manage ticket sales, seating arrangements, promo codes, and other logistical details that contribute to a smooth event experience. The Conferences & Events Manager will also liaise with the City of Palm Beach Gardens for necessary event permits assuring compliance with local regulations and smooth event operations.
Overall, this role suits a candidate who brings 3-4 years of event planning and execution experience, preferably within a similar context or nonprofit organization, and who thrives in roles requiring cross-functional collaboration, project management, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. The candidate should possess finely tuned interpersonal communication skills, capable of providing exceptional care and responsiveness to team members and stakeholders. This position offers an exciting challenge to drive church-wide and global event success through hands-on management and visionary leadership.
