Job Description
Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel located in the vibrant heart of Miami, Florida, offers a sophisticated and timeless retreat experience overlooking the shimmering waters of Biscayne Bay. This iconic hotel is part of HEI Hotels & Resorts portfolio, which is known for its dedication to excellence and the empowerment of its associates. HEI Hotels & Resorts is a respected independent franchisee operating this distinctive property with a commitment to hospitality excellence and guest satisfaction. The establishment prides itself on delivering refined sophistication combined with a vibrant local culture, making it an exceptional choice for both leisure and business travelers in the bustling Brickell financial and cultural district of Miami.
The available role is a full-time management position centered around catering sales at Brickell Arch. The role primarily involves managing catering accounts with the goal of achieving guest satisfaction and driving consistent revenue growth. This position requires soliciting new catering sales accounts while maintaining robust relationships with existing clients. Revenue targets encompass food, beverage, and room rental, necessitating expertise in all these aspects. The Catering Sales Manager will utilize various outreach methods, including telephone, email, outside sales calls, and site inspections, to develop and maintain a strong client base. Effective use of forecasting, budget management, and productivity metrics are essential for achieving business targets. Additionally, the role requires applying yield management techniques and analyzing historical data to optimize profitability.
Strategic responsibilities include evaluating catering opportunities for alignment with client expectations and hotel profitability, conducting market research on competitors’ offerings, and selling a full range of hotel services such as audiovisual equipment and room rentals to maximize account values. Building long-term client relationships and fostering repeat business are pivotal to the role. This position also involves active participation in industry organizations and community events to maintain market awareness and generate new business opportunities. Strong sales techniques, negotiation skills, and confident client presentations are critical for success.
The Catering Sales Manager will collaborate closely with culinary and banquet teams to create innovative menus and event setups, ensuring flawless event execution. Oversight of event facilitation includes coordination with banquet staff and vendors and managing audiovisual equipment as a profit center when applicable. Maintaining detailed records within sales and event management systems such as Delphi is required to guarantee accurate event documentation. Continuous market monitoring and competitor analysis help identify growth opportunities, while the incumbent takes on any additional duties necessary for the smooth operation of the catering sales function.
Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of one year of catering sales experience, preferably within a hotel of similar size and quality. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and hotel sales systems is expected. Strong sales and revenue management skills combined with the ability to train and motivate colleagues are highly valued. Knowledge of hotel features, competitive landscape, and hotel operations—including marketing, personnel relations, budget forecasting, and quality assurance—enhance performance in this role. Effective communication skills and the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences within time constraints are essential, as are excellent organizational, problem-solving, and client service capabilities.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually. HEI Hotels & Resorts supports a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, pet insurance, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, and employee discounts, all designed to foster physical, mental, and financial wellness. Brickell Arch and HEI celebrate diversity and are committed to building an inclusive workplace where all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, including U.S. military veterans. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a prestigious luxury hotel known for exceptional service and associate development in a dynamic and culturally rich environment.
