Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent from 4-year institution
  • two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • one to two years experience in sales and/or catering in hospitality industry preferred
  • ability to provide and maintain a valid drivers license
  • ability to travel occasionally as needed
  • excellent communication skills
  • intermediate computer skills
  • ability to lift up to 45 lbs
  • ability to stand, walk, and exert mobility for extended periods
  • ability to operate office equipment
  • willingness to maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • regular attendance and punctuality
  • compliance with company safety and security policies

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a 4-year institution or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • one to two years experience in sales and/or catering in hospitality industry preferred
  • excellent leadership capability
  • strong customer relations skills
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • intermediate computer skills
  • basic computational skills
  • knowledge of computer programs including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, key systems, and POS
  • strong issue resolution and analytical skills
  • knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • ability to work independently
  • excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills

Job Duties

  • Manage group and catering accounts to maximize business potential
  • create dynamic and positive relationships with customers from sales phase through onsite execution
  • achieve or exceed contracted food and beverage revenue minimums
  • negotiate contracts ensuring all solicitation and closing details are complete
  • make on-site and field presentations to prospective clients
  • conduct unique site inspections creating WOW experiences
  • manage group room block cut off dates or extensions
  • produce and distribute event schedules and banquet event orders
  • preside over weekly and daily BEO readings
  • translate customer needs into successful outcomes
  • manage event execution procedures including BEO creation and F&B forecasting
  • write group resumes detailing meeting agendas and requirements
  • plan group food and beverage events including menus and entertainment
  • meet clients upon arrival conducting pre-conference reviews
  • conduct post conference reviews including banquet check presentations
  • develop long term business relationships
  • create customized wedding packages and proposals
  • provide client support including lead processing
  • act as liaison between hotel and meeting planners
  • review and send accurate billing statements
  • support and foster Azul Hospitality culture
  • maintain hotel appearance and positive guest/staff interactions
  • develop strong interdepartmental communication
  • schedule meetings and business activities at the hotel
