The Conference Center Set up role at Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center is vital to the flawless execution of events and guest satisfaction. The individual in this position works closely with the Conference Center Manager or Supervisor, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager, ensuring that banquet and conference setups meet the hotel’s appearance, employee support, and client satisfaction standards. This position is non-exempt and requires hands-on involvement with minimal delegation, emphasizing a strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. The Conference Center Set up is responsible for interpreting Banquet Event Orders accurately and executing them in a timely and precise manner, guaranteeing proper placement of tables, chairs, linens, and related amenities. Additionally, this role incorporates maintaining cleanliness and security of conference rooms and adjacent public and back-of-house areas, supporting catering set-ups, and operating audio-visual equipment.

This role is essential for maintaining Stoney Creek’s reputation for professionalism and guest care. It demands intellectual confidence to manage abstract concepts, organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, and physical stamina to perform lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • Experience in hospitality preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull over 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work on-site at the hotel property
  • Willingness to undertake other duties as assigned
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED
  • Hospitality experience desired
  • Knowledgeable in operating hotel equipment and able to train others
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Good physical stamina
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Setup banquet and conference rooms according to Banquet Event Orders
  • Clean and maintain conference rooms and public areas including carpets, windows, and equipment
  • Support catering with timely food and beverage setup and presentation
  • Operate and maintain hotel audio/visual equipment
  • Ensure security of conference rooms and hotel assets
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and replacing light bulbs
  • Collaborate with staff and management to resolve guest or operational issues
