Job Description
ACME Concrete Paving, Inc. is a reputable heavy civil contractor operating primarily in the Pacific Northwest region. Specializing in concrete paving, the company has established itself as a leader in infrastructure projects that demand rigorous quality standards and attention to detail. ACME Concrete Paving is known for supporting a range of critical paving operations including airfield and heavy civil construction, making it a recognized name among project managers, contractors, and government agencies such as the FAA, USACE, and DOT. With a focus on delivering durable, high-quality paving solutions, ACME prides itself on a commitment to excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
The position of Concrete Paving Quality Control Technician at ACME Concrete Paving is a vital role responsible for the accuracy and reliability of concrete material testing and compliance monitoring on project sites. This is a hands-on, field-oriented position that requires the technician to conduct both field and laboratory tests to evaluate concrete mix properties and ensure all placement activities adhere strictly to project specifications and regulatory requirements. The technician takes ownership of testing procedures including slump, air content, unit weight, temperature, moisture content, and gradation analysis, as well as the preparation of compressive and flexural strength specimens.
Beyond testing, the role involves meticulous documentation and maintenance of daily QC reports, verification of batching and curing operations, and collaboration with various stakeholders including project managers, superintendents, batch plant operators, and third-party testing agencies. The technician must be proactive in identifying any non-conforming work and contributing to corrective actions while ensuring that all test equipment is calibrated and maintained according to standards.
This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in active construction environments and are comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position also involves travel to regional project sites, requiring adaptability and commitment to ACME's quality assurance mission. Candidates with experience in FAA, USACE, or DOT paving specifications will find this opportunity particularly aligned with their skill set.
ACME Concrete Paving offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company contribution, paid time off, and a career growth pathway within a growing heavy civil contractor. ACME is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to an inclusive workforce that values the contributions of disabled individuals and veterans.
Overall, the Concrete Paving Quality Control Technician role at ACME Concrete Paving is an exceptional opportunity for professionals who seek to advance their careers in construction quality assurance while contributing to significant infrastructure projects. This position demands high attention to detail, strong technical knowledge of concrete behavior, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards on every project.
