Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in concrete field testing (preferred)
  • ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certification (required or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work extended hours during paving operations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in outdoor and field environments
  • Willingness to travel to regional project sites
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in concrete field testing (preferred)
  • ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I certification (required or ability to obtain)
  • Experience with FAA, USACE, or DOT paving specifications (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of concrete materials and mix behavior
  • Ability to work extended hours during paving operations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong documentation and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Perform field and laboratory testing of concrete and aggregates including slump, air content (pressure meter), unit weight, temperature, moisture content, gradation analysis, compressive and flexural strength specimen preparation
  • Cast, cure, and document concrete test specimens
  • Maintain daily QC reports and testing logs
  • Monitor batching, placement, and curing operations
  • Verify compliance with project specifications and approved mix designs
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, batch plant operators, and third-party testing agencies
  • Identify non-conforming work and assist in corrective action
  • Maintain testing equipment calibration and documentation
  • Support submittals and quality documentation as needed
