Job Description
Cedarbrook Senior Living is a respected community dedicated to providing exceptional care and a high quality of life for its residents. Located in the serene and welcoming area of Bloomfield Hills, this community prides itself on the ethos of "Celebrating Life Every Day!". The focus at Cedarbrook Senior Living is not just on senior care but on fostering a vibrant, engaging, and supportive environment for both residents and their families. The team at Cedarbrook works diligently to understand each resident's unique preferences, needs, and goals, ensuring these are celebrated and realized in everyday living.
As a part-time Concierge/Valet at Cedarbrook Senior Living in Bloomfield Hills, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the warm and welcoming atmosphere that defines the community. This dual-role position requires a personable and attentive individual who excels both in customer service and logistical support. The Concierge responsibilities center around being the first point of contact for residents, visitors, family members, and guests. You will greet everyone promptly and warmly, manage telephone communications, and assist residents with scheduling transportation and event reservations. Additionally, you will support event programming efforts, especially on weekends, and handle important safety monitoring duties, such as overseeing the emergency response system and fire alarm panel during daytime hours.
The Valet responsibilities complement the Concierge role by ensuring residents' and guests' vehicles are treated with care and attention. This involves opening doors, handling luggage, safely driving and parking vehicles, and managing vehicle keys securely. You will also be responsible for traffic flow in the valet area to prevent congestion, as well as helping guests secure taxis or other transportation services. Providing insightful information about the community to visitors forms another key part of this role.
This position is ideal for self-motivated individuals who thrive in a community-oriented environment and who take pride in contributing to a safe, efficient, and hospitable living space for seniors. The role demands excellent interpersonal communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a strong sense of responsibility towards both residents and their personal belongings. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, alongside at least one year of related experience preferred, ensuring that the candidate can handle the varied demands of this important dual role effectively.
