The Concierge position at Sunrise of Cascade is a vital frontline role aimed at creating positive first impressions and providing exceptional customer service to residents, families, visitors, and potential candidates. As the initial point of contact, the Concierge plays a key role in fostering relationships, supporting the Director of Sales and Executive Director, and ensuring smooth and efficient communication across the community. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about serving others, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and their families.

The Concierge’s responsibilities are diverse, ranging from greeting guests warmly and managing community safety protocols to handling administrative duties and supporting marketing initiatives. They oversee the community entry area, answer incoming calls promptly, take and relay messages accurately, assist with recruitment processes by welcoming job candidates, and help maintain a pleasant and organized environment in the Bistro area. This role also supports sales efforts by assisting with inquiries and maintaining marketing materials.

Safety and risk management are essential components of the Concierge’s duties. They help ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, maintain emergency procedures and rosters, and participate actively in community safety initiatives such as the Safe Leaving Program. Administrative tasks, including managing meal tickets, mail distribution, resident data, and office supplies, are also integral parts of the role.

An ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, proven customer service experience, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to quickly learn new software applications. They will exhibit strong multitasking abilities, good judgment, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset aligned with Sunrise’s core values and principles of service.

Job Duties

  • Oversee the community entry area for visitors, guests, and residents
  • extend a warm welcome and greeting
  • offer and provide beverages to visitors and guests
  • ensure community safety protocols are in place
  • contact Director of Sales, Executive Director, or Department Coordinator to meet prospective residents and families
  • greet potential candidates for career opportunities and direct them to apply or capture their information
  • answer incoming telephone calls and resident calls promptly with the appropriate greeting
  • take complete and accurate messages and communicate them to recipients
  • provide community overview to callers and direct calls appropriately
  • manage appointments for residents and family members
  • send get well and sympathy cards to residents and families as needed
  • order flowers, name plates, and guest meals for resident move-ins
  • create and maintain marketing and move-in packet inventory
  • support sales by handling initial inquiry calls and lead tracking
  • maintain cleanliness and refreshment levels in the Bistro area
  • ensure music plays throughout the day
  • uphold safety procedures and maintain necessary rosters and emergency preparedness
  • respond to emergencies following policies
  • manage visitor sign-in/out and elopement risk lists
  • update resident and guest logs
  • prepare and process meal tickets and money
  • organize mail and newspapers distribution
  • maintain resident credit forms as directed
  • assist with recruitment data entry and administrative duties
  • monitor office supplies
  • track and disperse team paychecks
  • participate actively in team goals and engagement
  • maintain compliance with required training
  • perform other assigned duties
