This role centers on delivering exemplary customer service at the front desk within Sharp HealthCare facilities, primarily Sharp Mary Birch and Sharp Metropolitan Medical Campus. The position is designed to provide personalized service to both internal and external customers, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience that aligns with the Sharp Experience values. The candidate will be responsible for offering information, guidance, and assistance to visitors and patients, enhancing their navigation through hospital services and facilitating access as needed. This role primarily involves communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and environmental management with an emphasis on creating an orderly and hospitable lobby area.
The role requires consistent interaction with patients, visitors, volunteers, and hospital staff, making excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple demands crucial. Responsibilities include assisting in admissions, escorting patients, managing lost and found, and maintaining accurate records of front desk activities. This position is part of a unionized workforce and requires membership within 31 days of hire. Work hours are variable with 8-hour shifts, and the hourly pay range is between $27.50 and $33.53, reflecting the expertise and service quality expected. Weekend work may be necessary on an as-needed basis, and while on-call duties are not required, flexibility regarding shift times and tasks is important.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong customer service background and the capacity to handle diverse situations, including language barriers and complex inquiries. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred to better serve a varied patient population. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
- Experience in dealing with multiple demands simultaneously
- Strong customer service background
- Ability to provide age appropriate directions and information
- Effective problem solving and multitasking skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to read and write in Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers
- Offer personalized assistance, guidance, and information to visitors and patients
- Maintain safe and clean lobby environment
- Manage wheelchairs, visitor guides, maps, and signage
- Oversee lost and found and ensure front desk records are accurate
- Escort patients and arrange transportation as needed
- Collaborate with front desk staff to develop standardized practices and improve service
- Train and orient volunteers and new front desk staff on policies and procedures
