Job Description
The Perch is an innovative and inviting establishment designed to be a communal space where people gather, connect, and stay a while. Located in Holly Springs and slated to open in the summer of 2026, The Perch is more than just a coffee shop — it is a vibrant environment centered around specialty coffee, specialty games, and shared experiences. They prioritize creating intentional spaces that foster lasting joy and meaningful interactions among guests and staff alike. The Perch operates as a mission-driven and values-based organization committed to inclusivity, authenticity, and community engagement. This hospitality venue's unique approach emphasizes genuine relationships and outstanding service in a comfortable, welcoming setting. The team culture simultaneously values a learner’s mindset and encourages curiosity and adaptability to cater to evolving guest needs while maintaining clear operational guidelines and consistent coaching.
The Perch is currently hiring for multiple roles including Concierge, Barista, and Crafter (Food Handler). These positions are designed to authentically engage with guests, creating memorable experiences through attentive service and teamwork. Team members are expected to be friendly, present, and proactive in anticipating the needs of both other staff and visitors. The work environment is high-paced yet carefully structured, requiring employees to remain constantly aware of their next best action. Each role entails upholding The Perch’s purpose, promise to guests, and core values, contributing to an intentional, clean, and safe environment.
The Concierge role focuses on welcoming guests warmly, guiding them through specialty coffee and game selections, and managing orders and payment processing. Team members here are expected to maintain the drip brew-bar, manage inventory of merchandise, and keep the café and game arena inviting and well-organized.
The Barista position concentrates on crafting espresso-based and adjacent beverages consistent with The Perch’s recipe standards, maintaining a clean brew-bar, and ensuring every cup reflects quality through tasting and precise preparation. The Barista builds rapport with customers, fostering a sense of community.
The Crafter or Food Handler is responsible for preparing and plating high-quality food items, adhering to safety standards and recipes, and supporting the cleanliness and readiness of the kitchen and service areas. They also help maintain stock and assist in other guest-centered tasks.
Positions are available both full-time and part-time, with pay ranging from $10.25 to $13.25 per hour plus tips. Employees benefit from paid breaks, paid time off, and various perks that include free beverages while on shift, discounts on merchandise and food, starter swag gear, and monthly gift cards. The Perch encourages applicants who are at least 19 years old, possess a learner’s mindset, and exemplify reliability, integrity, and attention to detail. Candidates with a passion for hospitality, collaboration, and continuous learning will thrive in this uniquely crafted environment where every day is about creating joyful, engaging experiences for guests and team members alike.
