Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to handle transactions accurately
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Physical capability to lift 40 lbs
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic technology proficiency

- Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to store success
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment
- Communicate with excellence
- Comfortable with technology including smartphones, tablet computers, and Windows-based systems
- Ability to regularly move around all store areas and be accessible to customers
- Ability to bend, reach, stretch for product and lift, carry, and move at least 40 lbs
- Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Demonstrate ownership and initiative in achieving personal goals, store objectives, and daily priorities
- Greet, engage, and assist customers warmly, creating a welcoming environment and providing attentive, personalized service
- Provide services such as gift wrapping, gift card selling, online ordering, inventory look-up, and package pickups
- Apply suggestive selling techniques and offer product recommendations to meet customer needs and drive sales
- Build customer loyalty by introducing the Belk rewards program and the Belk App
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle customer inquiries, returns, and concerns with professionalism
- Maintain visually appealing service area, presentation standards, accurate signage, and cleanliness
- Leverage training tools, use resources, and embrace feedback to boost product knowledge and selling skills
- Support store operations with fulfillment, pricing, promotional sets, and product placement
- Follow asset protection procedures, safety guidelines, and security protocols to minimize risk and support inventory accuracy
- Contribute to a positive store culture by building connections with teammates, sharing knowledge, and celebrating achievements
