Serving a diverse population, this entity fosters a welcoming environment where residents feel valued and cared for through personalized attention and professional service. The organization is well-established with a clear dedication to maintaining high standards of courtesy, professionalism, and efficiency in all its operations. As a non-exempt position, employment as a Concierge within this community provides an opportunity to be an essential part of a team that plays a crucial role in the daily lives of its residents. The role promises a dynamic work environment behind a professional and respectful workplace culture.
The Concierge position is a pivotal frontline role where the individual serves as the courteous and professional first point of contact for visitors and those calling the community. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role involves managing various responsibilities that contribute to optimizing each resident's well-being and overall experience. The Concierge is responsible for greeting visitors warmly, promptly answering telephone calls, and effectively assisting with resident requests. Additionally, the role involves scheduling appointments for transportation and salon services, preparing and managing maintenance work orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of sundry items and other commodities requested by residents.
Key to this position is excellent communication skills alongside strong problem-solving abilities, enabling the Concierge to interact fluently with residents, families, staff members, and visitors. The Concierge must exhibit a professional appearance and demeanor, creating a friendly atmosphere that encourages positive interactions. The role requires familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office, to maintain records and update forms efficiently. It is essential for the individual to have an appreciation of senior citizens and an understanding of the aging process and its associated challenges. The Concierge may also be required to monitor security systems and respond to emergencies effectively, although supervisory duties are not part of this job.
Physical demands associated with this role include the ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear as routine tasks, with occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds and crouching. The position entails the capacity to work under conditions where residents might exhibit disruptive behavior, requiring patience and conflict resolution skills. Overall, this role is perfect for a personable, organized, and reliable professional who thrives in a community service environment and desires to make a significant positive difference in the lives of seniors.
