Job Description

Glacier Hills is a distinguished retirement and senior living community located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Known for its commitment to providing high-quality care and creating a warm, welcoming environment, Glacier Hills caters to older adults who seek comfort, security, and community. This establishment emphasizes person-centered care, dignity, and respect for every individual, ensuring that residents feel valued and supported in their daily lives. The community offers a range of services and amenities designed to enrich the lives of its residents, including residential living options, healthcare services, and social activities. Glacier Hills stands out as a place where both residents and staff members thrive in a supportive, inclusive, and compassionate atmosphere.

The current opening is for a Part-Time Concierge to work the night shift from 6 pm to 2 am, providing critical support and a friendly presence for the community during after-hours. This role is vital in maintaining the security and smooth operation of the facility overnight, assisting residents, guests, and vendors with their needs, and ensuring the safety of all. The Concierge at Glacier Hills is expected to be dependable, calm under pressure, and able to manage emergencies with professionalism and composure. Responsibilities include greeting residents and visitors, monitoring building access, facilitating maintenance requests, handling calls and messages, and responding effectively to emergencies using established protocols. The position is designed for candidates who enjoy helping others and take pride in being the reliable contact point within a lively and caring community.

Working part-time offers flexibility and a gradual integration into a team that values collaboration and respect. Employees benefit from paid holidays, generous paid time off (PTO), and the opportunity for daily pay through DailyPay, which supports financial well-being by offering quick access to earned wages. Additionally, Glacier Hills offers up to $4,000 a year in tuition reimbursement to support continuing education, which speaks to their investment in employees' professional growth. Discounts on products and services from major vendors like AT&T, Verizon, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and Quicken Loans provide added value, making this a well-rounded and attractive employment opportunity.

The role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on professionalism, calmness, and attention to detail. Candidates should be capable of working independently, able to follow emergency protocols, and comfortable with phones, email, and basic computer systems like the Worxhub for work order management. Physical ability to move around the property and respond swiftly to any needs is also important. This position offers a fantastic chance to contribute to a safe, warm, and welcoming community atmosphere on a part-time basis, ideal for those passionate about making a positive impact in a senior living environment while maintaining work-life balance.
