As a Part-Time Concierge at Fairmont Copley Plaza, you will play an essential role as both the face and heart of the guest experience. This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about creating extraordinary moments for guests by connecting them seamlessly to the best dining, shopping, cultural, and recreational opportunities in Boston.

The Concierge functions as a trusted expert and ambassador of the hotel, establishing an inviting atmosphere and a welcoming first impression for every guest. The role involves managing a wide variety of guest requests ranging from amenity and sightseeing recommendations to arranging transportation and special event details, all delivered with discretion, tact, and professionalism. Working shift hours that may include mornings or evenings, the Concierge must maintain composure under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills to ensure guest satisfaction.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel in customer service within a luxury hotel environment and who have at least two years of progressive hospitality experience. While proficiency in a foreign language is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates must be comfortable using office equipment such as calculators, computers, telephones, and fax machines and be capable of handling situations requiring light physical activity, such as lifting up to 20 pounds. The successful candidate will remain polished in personal appearance, adhering to Fairmont's standards for uniform and grooming, and will comply with operational guidelines to support safe and efficient hotel operations.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work AM and/or PM shifts as necessary
  • Occasional long hours may be required
  • Light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Must maintain regular attendance
  • Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag

Job Qualifications

  • Foreign language preferred but not necessary
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems

  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Assist with amenity requests, sightseeing requests, beauty service requests, religious needs, and special event information
  • Provide shopping and restaurant recommendations
  • prepare restaurant reservations
  • Arrange floral orders and provide recommendations
  • Assist in arranging workouts and other personalized guest experiences
  • Prepare transportation arrangements
  • Assist in equipment rentals
  • Organize laundry pickup and delivery
  • Transact with courier services
  • Trace and expedite delivery of misplaced luggage
  • Assist with secretarial services
  • Monitor referrals and follow up as needed
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag
  • Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations
