Job Description

MUSC Health, recognized as South Carolina's leading academic health system, is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care through a vast and expanding network of hospitals, clinics, and specialty services across the state. As the clinical enterprise of the Medical University of South Carolina, MUSC Health seamlessly integrates academic medicine, groundbreaking research, and top-tier education with an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence and patient-centered care. This integration empowers physicians, clinicians, and staff to innovate and provide superior healthcare outcomes. Physicians joining MUSC Health become part of a mission-driven organization that prioritizes their professional development and success, offering ample resources, sophisticated infrastructure, and opportunities for career growth in both academic and community healthcare settings. The Medical University of South Carolina firmly supports diversity and inclusivity, operating as an Equal Opportunity Employer and embracing individuals from varied backgrounds, beliefs, and identities.

The role available at MUSC is for a full-time BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to join and expand the MDVIP Concierge Medicine services in a new office located in Bluffton, South Carolina. This physician will play a vital role in providing highly personalized, comprehensive medical care focused on enhancing patient wellness, quality of life, and continuity of care. Unlike traditional primary care models, this concierge position supports a smaller patient panel, allowing the physician to establish meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. Such relationships foster customized wellness plans and proactive health management strategies focused on preventive medicine and early intervention. Physicians in this role are supported by a full administrative staff, including a practice manager, care coordinator, clinical associates, and front office personnel, which alleviates administrative burdens and lets the physician focus more on patient-centered care.

The position offers access to a multidisciplinary team and advanced technology, including the Epic Electronic Health Record system optimized for physician workflows, along with AI-enabled tools that reduce documentation time and assist with clinical decision-making at the point of care. This comprehensive support system encourages physicians to maximize their clinical impact and patient satisfaction. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., providing an optimal balance for maintaining quality patient care while enjoying a manageable workweek. Bluffton offers a desirable lifestyle for residents, known as one of the last true coastal villages in the South, featuring historic homes, artisan shops, scenic May River views, and a strong community spirit.

With a competitive benefits package, including paid malpractice coverage, parental leave, CME allowances, retirement plans, and student loan management support, this role caters to physicians seeking a meaningful, balanced professional experience in a supportive environment. MUSC's concerted efforts to empower physicians with resources and cutting-edge tools foster a rewarding career with both clinical excellence and personal fulfillment, making this opportunity ideal for skilled Family or Internal Medicine physicians aiming to make a significant difference in concierge medicine.
