Positioned strategically across from The Salt Palace Convention Center and just a block from TRAX, the hotel is a prime destination for visitors attending exciting conventions, group events, and exploring the city's top attractions. This urban setting provides both guests and employees with an exciting environment infused with the energy of a bustling city center while maintaining a warm hospitality atmosphere. Marriott Downtown at City Creek is part of HEI Hotels and Resorts, a well-respected hospitality management company known for delivering exceptional guest experiences. The company emphasizes not only guest satisfaction but also values the growth and development of its team members. They provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision plans, discounted parking, and subsidized TRAX passes to ease commute challenges in the city. This ensures employees enjoy a supportive working environment that promotes both professional and personal well-being.
The role at Marriott Downtown at City Creek focuses on assisting guests with their needs and requests to guarantee a memorable and positive experience. The position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings and who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service. As a guest service assistant, you will serve as a central point of contact for visitors seeking information or assistance related to hotel services and the surrounding area. Your responsibilities will include answering inquiries about making reservations for dining, entertainment, sports events, recreational activities, tours, health and beauty options, childcare services, transportation, cultural events, shopping, and more. Providing accurate and helpful directions within the hotel or to nearby events is also key.
Additionally, your role will involve managing communication tasks such as notifying or assisting guests with receiving facsimiles, mail, messages, and packages. Maintaining up-to-date information and promotional materials about the hotel’s services and local attractions is essential for delivering informed assistance. To succeed in this role, you must be dependable, adhere to attendance policies, and be flexible in your availability. You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment that prioritizes diversity and inclusion, encouraging individuals from all backgrounds to bring their unique perspectives. Marriott Downtown at City Creek also values U.S. military experience and welcomes qualified veterans to apply.
This position is eligible for tips or service charges, enhancing the compensation package, but does not include a discretionary performance bonus. Your day-to-day work will be instrumental in shaping guests’ perceptions and ensuring they leave with positive memories of their stay. If you enjoy engaging with people, possess excellent communication skills, and desire a career path with growth potential in the hospitality industry, this role offers a fulfilling adventure at one of Salt Lake City’s premier hotels.
