Job Description

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. With a mission deeply rooted in improving the lives of those affected by cancer, the society mobilizes millions of supporters, including employees and 1.3 million volunteers, to make a lasting impact. The organization is recognized for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that its culturally rich workforce reflects the communities it serves. This dedication to diverse perspectives enables the society to better address the unique needs of cancer patients, survivors, and their families across various regions.

Working at the American Cancer Society is more than just a job; it is a calling to be part of a transformative journey toward ending cancer. Employees contribute their talents and passion toward lifesaving missions every day, fostering a workplace environment that values collaboration, innovation, and compassion. The organization is committed to providing excellent professional development resources, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive culture where every team member can thrive.

The role of Concierge at the American Cancer Society serves as the initial point of contact for guests, providing a warm, safe, and supportive setting throughout their visit. This position is pivotal in managing front desk operations, including guest check-in and check-out procedures, responding to inquiries, and coordinating transportation and security services. The Concierge is expected to maintain a highly organized front desk area and accurate guest records, while also being vigilant in monitoring lobby security and implementing safety protocols. This role is ideal for individuals who possess strong interpersonal skills, a customer service mindset, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic environment.

The Concierge position is scheduled for weekend shifts, specifically Saturdays and Sundays from 3:30 pm to midnight, offering a pay rate of $19.50 per hour. This part-time opportunity involves direct interaction with guests, requiring a blend of hospitality expertise and responsiveness to ensure that visitors experience a positive and seamless environment. The role also requires some physical stamina, as it may involve prolonged standing, walking, and occasional handling of luggage or packages during guest assistance.

At the American Cancer Society, employees receive a robust benefits package that includes paid time off, medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and access to professional development opportunities. The organization fosters an inclusive equality-based workplace and actively supports career growth and employee well-being. For professionals passionate about customer service in the healthcare and nonprofit sector, the Concierge role offers a meaningful way to contribute daily to a cause that profoundly changes lives.
