Rooted in a culture of diversity and inclusion, the American Cancer Society leverages a wide range of perspectives and experiences to serve communities effectively and compassionately. With a legacy of impact and a mission grounded in science and empathy, the organization continuously strives to make cancer history for everyone.
The role of Concierge at the American Cancer Society is a vital and dynamic position situated within their hospitality and guest services division. This part-time role requires an individual who can embody the organization's welcoming spirit and provide first-contact excellence to guests. The Concierge acts as the frontline ambassador, responsible for managing all aspects of front desk operations, ensuring guests' needs are met with care and professionalism. This includes greeting guests warmly, handling check-in and check-out protocols efficiently, and delivering comprehensive information about lodge amenities and available community resources. Additionally, the role involves coordinating transportation services, including managing schedules for the EMPOWER Program, which supports cancer patients' mobility needs.
Essential to this position is the ability to respond promptly and effectively to guest inquiries, concerns, and emergencies, thereby fostering a safe and supportive environment. The Concierge also oversees lobby security and adheres to safety protocols, maintaining a secure space for all visitors and staff. The role demands a high level of organization to maintain accurate guest records and an orderly front desk area, essential for smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.
Working Thursday through Saturday from 3 pm to 11 pm, this position offers a competitive hourly rate of $19.50. The American Cancer Society values its employees and extends a robust benefits package that includes paid time off, medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and opportunities for professional development. This role is well suited for individuals with a background in hospitality or customer service who exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are capable of multitasking efficiently, and thrive in a mission-driven environment. Flexibility in scheduling and a readiness to engage in physically active duties such as prolonged standing and assisting guests with luggage are also important aspects of the position. By joining the American Cancer Society as a Concierge, candidates contribute directly to an impactful organization dedicated to fighting cancer and supporting those touched by the disease, making their daily work meaningful and fulfilling.
