Job Description

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Established over a century ago, the organization leads the fight against cancer through research, education, advocacy, and patient services. With a vast network of employees and 1.3 million volunteers, the American Cancer Society works tirelessly to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families while advancing breakthroughs in cancer prevention and treatment. The organization's commitment to diversity and inclusion is fundamental to its operations, ensuring that it effectively serves communities of all backgrounds.

As a highly respected nonprofit entity focused on healthcare, the American Cancer Society continuously strives to empower those affected by cancer and create a world where cancer no longer causes suffering or death. This is achieved through collaborative efforts spanning scientific research, community programs, and comprehensive support services.

The Concierge role at the American Cancer Society serves as a crucial first point of contact for guests at their facilities, ensuring a warm, secure, and supportive environment. This position plays an essential role in managing front desk operations including guest check-ins and check-outs, responding to guest inquiries, and coordinating transportation and security measures. The Concierge contributes directly to the organization's mission by providing outstanding customer service and facilitating smooth daily operations for guests who may be patients, families, or volunteers.

Scheduled for 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, this role offers a wage of $18.59 per hour with an additional 15 percent shift differential for weekend hours, reflecting the importance of flexibility and dedication in this position. The work environment combines administrative responsibilities with guest relations, requiring the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Additionally, the job includes tasks such as monitoring lobby security and implementing safety protocols to maintain a secure atmosphere.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are motivated by meaningful work, enjoy interacting with diverse populations, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and guest services, ensuring every interaction leaves a positive impression. Knowledge of hospitality or customer service principles is beneficial, and prior experience in hospitality or related fields supports success in this position.

Overall, working as a Concierge at the American Cancer Society offers a fulfilling career path for those passionate about making a difference in people’s lives while honing valuable service and operational expertise. The organization also provides employees with generous paid time off, medical and dental benefits, retirement plans, wellness programs, and professional development opportunities, fostering personal and professional growth in an inspiring and mission-driven workplace.
