The role of Concierge at the American Cancer Society in Kansas City is a part-time position designed to be the first point of contact for guests visiting the facility. This role is vital to ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive atmosphere. Working Sunday through Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, the Concierge manages front desk operations, including guest check-in and check-out procedures. A key responsibility is providing guests with information about lodge amenities and community resources, as well as coordinating transportation and the EMPOWER program schedules. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills to respond attentively to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies promptly and effectively.

The Concierge also plays a significant role in maintaining security protocols by monitoring lobby security and ensuring the safety of all guests and staff within the premises. The position requires someone with the ability to multitask efficiently, work independently, and manage a variety of administrative tasks such as maintaining organized records and handling multi-line phone systems. The pay rate for this position is $19.50 per hour, with additional shift differential pay for evening and weekend hours. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and move luggage and packages
  • ability to perform manual tasks such as carrying luggage and opening doors

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • additional education or training in hospitality management or customer service is a plus
  • previous experience in hospitality, guest services, or a related field is preferred
  • minimum 1 year of customer service experience
