Located in Decatur, Georgia, the American Cancer Society seeks a full-time Concierge who will serve as the first point of contact for guests at its facility. This role is critical in ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment for all visitors. The Concierge manages front desk operations with a particular focus on guest check-in and check-out procedures, responding promptly to inquiries and guest requests. They provide essential information regarding lodge amenities and local community resources, offering support that enhances the overall guest experience. Additionally, the Concierge coordinates transportation and the EMPOWER Program services, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling to meet guests' needs. In times of emergencies or guest concerns, the Concierge acts swiftly to address situations, maintaining safety and comfort.

The Concierge maintains an organized front desk, keeping accurate records and monitoring lobby security while implementing established safety protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital to this position, alongside the ability to multitask and work independently within a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems is required to handle the administrative aspects effectively. A flexible schedule is expected, including availability during evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of guests.

This position requires minimal travel and involves physical stamina, as the Concierge may stand or walk for extended periods, assist with luggage, and perform manual tasks such as opening doors. The role demands a balanced combination of physical endurance and attentive guest service capable of thriving in a dynamic setting. The starting pay for this position is $19.50 per hour, with consideration given to each candidate's experience and skills during the final offer process.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Additional education or training in hospitality management or customer service is a plus
  • Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
