Job Description
The hiring establishment is a community-oriented care facility focused on providing a welcoming and supportive environment to its residents, patients, employees, and visitors. This type of facility is dedicated to promoting the well-being of its elderly and vulnerable populations by ensuring their comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout their stay. The community emphasizes a warm and friendly atmosphere where all interactions are handled with professionalism, kindness, and respect. As a care community, the organization prioritizes maintaining good relationships and seamless communication between residents and their families, employees, management, and outside service providers. The front desk plays a critical role in this mission, acting as the first point of contact and the central hub for information and assistance.
This role involves being the welcoming face of the community, greeting everyone who enters with warmth and a friendly smile, and offering refreshments if a wait is necessary. The position involves managing telephone communications efficiently, directing inquiries and calls promptly to the appropriate personnel within the community. Keeping updated records of residents and maintaining the resident registry is integral to ensuring accurate and efficient service delivery. The role also includes handling maintenance requests by processing work orders and coordinating with maintenance staff to assure timely responses. Monitoring residents daily and maintaining an absentee register helps to ensure their safety and well-being.
The individual filling this role must manage visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures diligently, including tracking delivery personnel, outside contractors, and service providers through a daily journal to maintain security protocols. Operational duties also include providing administrative support by making copies, sending faxes, and keeping accurate records of cash transactions related to employee meals and postage, which are monthly submitted to bookkeeping. This position requires flexibility to take on various assignments, projects, or tasks as directed by management, reflecting the dynamic nature of the community environment.
Professionalism in appearance and demeanor aligns with the community’s standards, ensuring that staff members project a positive image. Being personable and having a genuine enthusiasm for supporting the elderly are key personal attributes sought for the role. Patience and tact are essential qualities to address diverse situations and to maintain a positive attitude in all interactions. The role demands strong communication skills in English, computer literacy for record keeping and communication tasks, and an overall commitment to fostering a respectful and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved.
This full-time or part-time position provides an opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to enriching the lives of the elderly and ensuring their comfort and safety within the community. While the salary details are not explicitly stated, the role offers intrinsic rewards through meaningful interaction and contribution to community well-being. The successful candidate will represent the care community’s core values through their welcoming attitude, administrative competence, and reliability in handling essential front desk operations.
