Job Description

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. They are committed to saving lives, celebrating lives, and leading the fight for a world without cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service. With a network of 1.3 million volunteers and a team of dedicated employees, ACS offers a supportive culture grounded in diversity and inclusion to better serve diverse communities. This commitment enables the organization to touch millions of lives annually by providing information, support, and hope to cancer patients and their families.

The role of Concierge-Driver at Hope Lodge is a critical position within the American Cancer Society that blends guest service excellence with safe, efficient transportation. Hope Lodge provides free lodging and support to cancer patients and their caregivers, facilitating access to life-saving medical treatments. As a Concierge-Driver, you are the primary transportation provider who ensures guests reach their medical appointments and community resources safely and comfortably. The role also involves front desk and concierge duties, such as greeting guests, managing check-ins and check-outs, and providing information about the lodge's amenities and local services.

This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with an hourly wage of $20.48. It includes full benefits and additional shift differential pay for evening hours and Sundays worked. The Concierge-Driver is responsible not only for transporting guests but also for maintaining vehicle readiness, including daily inspections and cleanliness. Attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount to ensure all transportation runs on schedule, with record-keeping duties involving mileage logs and trip data.

In this role, strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with guests and caregivers, addressing guest requests, concerns, and emergencies in a compassionate and professional manner. The Concierge-Driver must be able to assist guests with mobility challenges and luggage, navigating a supportive environment that underscores the organization's mission to provide comfort and care during a difficult time. This position demands physical stamina and coordination since duties require extended periods of standing and walking, lifting luggage or packages, and operating vehicles.

The American Cancer Society fosters a work environment that promotes wellness, professional development, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, retirement, and paid time off. Employees are empowered to grow within an inspiring company focused on making a meaningful impact in cancer care. Working at ACS means joining a passionate team dedicated to increasing the quality of life for cancer patients and their families, representing a rewarding career path for individuals who thrive in service-oriented roles within nonprofit health organizations. This is an opportunity to make a difference by combining excellent service with compassionate transportation support under a respected and mission-driven organization.
