Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton, located at 181 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, Georgia, is a globally recognized luxury hotel brand renowned for its exceptional service and dedication to creating memorable guest experiences. As part of Marriott International's prestigious portfolio, The Ritz-Carlton sets the standard for luxury hospitality with over 100 award-winning hotels worldwide. The company prides itself on fostering a culture where diversity, creativity, kindness, and compassion are celebrated, ensuring every team member contributes to creating lasting memories for guests. The Ritz-Carlton commits to providing equal employment opportunities and an inclusive environment that values the unique contributions of all associates, supporting their personal and professional growth. This commitment extends to non-discrimination policies and the promotion of safe and supportive workplaces.
This full-time, non-management position within the Rooms and Guest Services Operations category is crucial in maintaining the high standards expected at The Ritz-Carlton. The role centers around managing the availability of seats, service quality, and guest safety and well-being in the club lounge environment. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and good condition of the bar, furniture, tables, and other instruments, as well as preparing and serving a variety of beverages including hot, cold, and alcoholic drinks. The role also involves ensuring that the lounge is adequately stocked with ice, glassware, and supplies, anticipating replenishment needs, and immediately communicating those needs.
Additional physical duties include washing dishes and kitchen utensils as required, handling opening and closing tasks, requisitioning necessary supplies from storage to the bar area, and securing all liquors, beers, wines, refrigerators, cabinets, and storage areas. Accurate documentation of relevant information in departmental records is also key. The position requires anticipating extra food needs and communicating special requests to the kitchen, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management, and strictly adhering to company policies, procedures, and dress code standards.
Guest interaction is a significant component of the role, with a focus on welcoming guests according to company standards, anticipating and attending to their service needs, assisting persons with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation towards guests. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role, including professional telephone etiquette and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, supporting positive working relationships and team goals. The position involves physical tasks such as moving, lifting, pushing, dragging, and placing objects up to 25 pounds, and requires standing, sitting, or walking for prolonged periods throughout the workday.
As a member of The Ritz-Carlton team, employees are expected to uphold the "Gold Standards" which form the foundation of the brand’s exceptional service culture. These standards include the employee promise, credo, and service values, all designed to ensure each day is better than the last. Employees are empowered and encouraged to be creative, kind, and compassionate, making this a rewarding opportunity to not only provide luxury service but also to develop personally and professionally within a world-class hospitality leader. Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a global community and embarking on a path to fulfilling one’s purpose and becoming the best version of oneself.
