The Concierge Service position at AMC Mount Pleasant is a part-time casual role designed to offer exceptional first impressions and customer service to visitors, patients, and guests at the facility. This role is crucial in managing the welcoming atmosphere, assisting with directions, transportation arrangements, and ensuring smooth flow at the facility entrances. The pay range for this position is between $18.85 and $28.30 per hour. Being a casual role, it does not have a set schedule, providing flexibility to accommodate fluctuating operational needs. Responsibilities include greeting customers, assessing their immediate needs, aiding with vehicle assistance, wheelchair locating, providing direction, escorting to destinations, and collaborating with volunteers and other hospital departments. The Concierge also supports traffic flow and parking arrangements including valet service and transportation assistance such as taxi vouchers or bus passes. Maintaining a clean, safe working environment and reporting security or safety concerns immediately are critical duties. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, familiarity with the principles of age-appropriate care, and collaboration with hospital support staff from public safety, environmental services, patient transport, and other grounds departments. The candidate should be prepared to work in outdoor conditions, often standing or walking for most of the day, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds.
