Job Description
Atlantic Shores Retirement Community is a distinguished continuing care retirement community located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Established with the mission to be a welcoming neighborhood promoting active lifestyles, it serves individuals aged 55 and up. Known for its award-winning services, Atlantic Shores is dedicated to ensuring freedom, dignity, wellness, independence, and security for all its residents and staff. The community’s core values emphasize service to others, a culture of trust and honesty, leadership growth, and loyalty. These values create a supportive and enriching environment where both residents and employees can thrive. As a respected leader in senior living, Atlantic Shores combines high-quality care with an inviting, active lifestyle, making it a choice residence for many in the region.
The community is currently seeking a full-time Concierge (Administrative Receptionist) to join its dynamic Administrative Services team. This role is pivotal in creating positive first impressions and providing essential assistance to residents, staff, guests, and vendors. The Concierge operates under established policies and the guidance of the Director of Administrative Services, handling various clerical duties alongside front desk responsibilities. A key aspect of this position is delivering courteous and professional communication by answering and transferring calls appropriately and offering information and direction. The ideal candidate embodies a mindset for service, teamwork, and maintaining a resident-centered focus in all interactions.
This role requires an individual with exceptional people skills, a warm and welcoming demeanor, and the ability to multitask efficiently. Candidates should be comfortable working with a diverse group of coworkers in a respectful and cooperative environment. Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Outlook, and Excel are essential, as well as the willingness to learn new software applications. While previous receptionist experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, as a positive attitude, a desire to learn, and an ability to make responsible decisions for residents are highly valued.
Atlantic Shores offers competitive hourly wages that reflect the candidate's experience. Additional compensation benefits include 1.5 times holiday pay, overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 per week, generous paid time off beginning with up to 104 hours annually for full-time employees, and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability insurance plans. There are also supplemental benefits such as accident, cancer, critical illness coverage, legal resources, and identity theft protection. Tuition reimbursement of up to $5,250 annually is available for qualifying coursework. Other benefits include a 401(k) plan with company matching, educational partnership discounts with several universities, referral bonuses for new employee recommendations, a Star Employee Recognition Program with monetary awards, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support employee well-being.
Working at Atlantic Shores means joining a community where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while enjoying a collaborative and supportive workplace. The retirement community values individuals who bring a compassionate heart, kindness, and professionalism to their work every day. The Concierge role is not only about administrative tasks but also about being a frontline ambassador for the community’s values, fostering trust and excellence in service. If you are passionate about serving others and seek a rewarding career in a respected retirement community, Atlantic Shores offers an exceptional opportunity with great benefits and the chance to grow within a positive and inclusive culture.
