Job Description

Atlantic Shores is an award-winning continuing care retirement community located in Virginia Beach, dedicated to serving adults aged 55 and above. This community embodies a neighborhood where people want to live and work, promoting active lifestyles while ensuring residents enjoy freedom, dignity, wellness, independence, and security. The organization values service to others, fostering a culture of trust and honesty, encouraging leadership development, and nurturing loyalty among staff and residents alike. Known for its welcoming and supportive environment, Atlantic Shores is committed to excellence in senior care and community living, making it a standout place for both residents and employees. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our dynamic Administrative Services team in the role of Concierge, also known as Administrative Receptionist. This position is crucial as it offers the first point of contact for residents, guests, staff, and vendors, providing courteous and professional assistance while managing communications effectively. The Concierge must embody a positive and service-oriented mindset, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working within a diverse and cooperative team. This role involves answering and transferring calls, offering information and directions, and performing various clerical tasks guided by established policies and the supervisor's instructions. Positioned under the Director of Administrative Services, the Concierge plays an essential role in ensuring smooth daily operations and delivering exemplary resident-centered care. Earnings for this role are competitive and based on years of experience, supporting hourly employees with additional compensation such as 1.5x holiday and overtime pay for hours exceeding 40 per week. Full-time employees benefit from generous paid time off, beginning with up to 104 hours annually. Comprehensive health benefits are offered, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, supplemental accident and critical illness coverage, legal resources, and identity theft protection. Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually is available for qualifying coursework, underscoring our commitment to employee growth and education. Our workforce enjoys additional perks such as a 401(k) plan with company match, educational partnership discounts with reputable universities, referral bonuses for new employee hires, a Star Employee Recognition Program with monetary awards, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that supports overall well-being. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive work culture that values compassion, teamwork, and continual learning in a supportive atmosphere. Ideal candidates are those who are service-driven, adaptable, and eager to contribute positively every day. They display excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and excel in organizing multiple priorities with efficiency and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Outlook, and Excel, is required, as is the ability to learn new software applications. A warm smile and extraordinary people skills are essential to create the right first impressions, along with the ability to make thoughtful decisions that prioritize residents' best interests. Joining Atlantic Shores means becoming part of a community that strives not only to care for its residents but also to grow and support its employees like family. This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives of others while enjoying excellent benefits and a positive work environment where your contributions are valued and recognized.
