Job Description

Community Memorial Health System is a well-established healthcare provider in Ventura County, formed in 2005 through the merger of Community Memorial Hospital and Ojai Valley Community Hospital. As a community-owned, not-for-profit organization, it operates without backing from corporate or government entities, focusing solely on serving the local communities across west Ventura County with a network of hospitals and specialty care health centers. Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura has been distinguished as the only hospital in the county to receive a prestigious five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), a testament to its commitment to exceptional patient care and service quality.

The Concierge role at Community Memorial Healthcare is a vital front-facing position that shapes the guest experience within the hospital facilities. This position is designed to promote a culture of safety, authentic hospitality, and service excellence by providing concierge services to guests, patients, and visitors. Acting as the first point of contact in the hospital lobbies and public areas, the Concierge serves as a greeter, screening agent, and navigator to facilitate smooth and welcoming visits. A key responsibility is collaborating closely with departments such as Admitting, Valet, Auxiliary, and Security to enhance service delivery.

This role demands a compassionate and customer-service-oriented professional who can effectively engage with guests, address their non-clinical needs, and support hospital operations by monitoring front drive and lobby activity, managing parking assistance for medically needy patients, and ensuring compliance with safety and emergency protocols. The Concierge must maintain a positive, welcoming demeanor, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have the ability to operate mobile devices for service coordination. This mobile position requires the Concierge to move throughout hospital areas as needed, assisting with visitor navigation, answering inquiries about services and the community, and managing guest concerns with patience and professionalism.

The Concierge also plays an integral role in maintaining the aesthetics and organization of the arrival and lobby areas through coordination with other departments and volunteers, reinforcing the hospital's commitment to a high-quality guest experience. Additional tasks may include issuing visitor and vendor passes, managing lost and found items, and participating in service enhancement programs. This position requires an individual who embodies the organization’s mission, vision, and values while displaying adaptability, empathy, and leadership potential.

This job offers an hourly wage range from $24.50 to $26.00, reflecting the applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience level. Community Memorial Healthcare emphasizes competitive pay along with comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities. This includes access to health insurance plans, retirement options, paid time off, and employee support programs designed to foster well-being and professional growth, making it a rewarding opportunity for individuals committed to delivering outstanding healthcare hospitality services.
