This role at Albertsons Companies focuses on the pivotal position of a Catering Concierge, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Catering Concierge plays a significant role in engaging guests as they enter the catering area, providing knowledgeable guidance about catering options, and ensuring all orders are placed and executed to the highest standards. This position requires strong communication skills, detailed understanding of catering products including platters from seafood, bakery, and sushi departments, and the ability to coordinate with multiple store departments for a seamless customer experience. The Concierge will also manage catering orders, follow through on special requests, and facilitate full party planning by incorporating additional store services like floral and wine. Furthermore, the Concierge will assist with planning and coordinating donation events, managing budgets, and maintaining accurate records. This is a full-time role requiring availability seven days a week, with responsibilities extending to physical tasks such as lifting and maintaining food safety certifications. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Food, kitchen, or catering service background
  • Culinary, event planning, or hospitality degree a plus
  • Available seven days a week from 9am to 6pm
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast, controlled manner
  • Current Food Safety Certification
  • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others

  • Experience in food, kitchen, or catering service
  • Culinary, event planning, or hospitality degree is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the catering area
  • Understand and provide knowledge of all catering items including those not on the brochure such as seafood, bakery, and sushi platters
  • Calculate and advise on appropriate amounts to order based on number of guests
  • Pair complementary foods to enhance the catering experience
  • Place orders with corresponding departments, keeping copies for consistency on pricing, timing, and special requests
  • Follow up daily on catering orders with staff to ensure all is prepared and listed correctly
  • Collaborate with catering staff to verify special requests and ensure timely order readiness
  • Integrate all store aspects including floral, bakery, wine, and dish departments for complete party planning
  • Establish and coordinate outside sources for party setup and serving staff
  • Plan and place orders for donation events within budget, coordinate with organizations, manage reimbursements, and report costs to Store Director
  • Perform other duties as requested by upper management
