Job Description
Sunrise of River Forest is a distinguished senior living community dedicated to providing exceptional care and vibrant living experiences for its residents. As part of the larger Sunrise Senior Living family, this community embodies a commitment to quality service and compassionate support that enhances the lives of older adults. Sunrise Senior Living is recognized for its person-centered approach, focusing on respect, dignity, and individuality in care. The River Forest location offers an inviting atmosphere that combines comfort with comprehensive services designed to support the health and happiness of its residents.
Within Sunrise of River Forest, the Concierge plays a vital role as the face of the community, often serving as the initial touchpoint for potential residents, their families, and visitors. This position is integral to maintaining the welcoming and professional environment that Sunrise is known for. The Concierge is responsible not only for greeting guests with warmth and professionalism but also for managing communication lines effectively, including handling both external and internal calls with attentiveness and efficiency. Additionally, the Concierge supports the Director of Sales and Executive Director by providing community information and assisting with the recruitment process, making this role essential to both resident relations and community operations.
This part-time role specifically covers shifts from 2 pm to 10 pm on weekends, offering an opportunity to join a team committed to service excellence on a flexible schedule. The position involves a broad range of duties including administrative tasks, supervising the Bistro area, and assisting with marketing efforts. Key responsibilities include monitoring the entrance area, managing visitor logs, facilitating communication between team members and residents, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Also significant is the Concierge's role in supporting resident move-ins and coordinating with sales and marketing teams to promote community engagement.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, is adept at multitasking, and possesses strong communication abilities. Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office and Sunrise-specific software is necessary, along with a background in customer service. This role also demands a high level of discretion and professionalism given its involvement with sensitive resident information and community operations. Commitment to the Sunrise mission and values is paramount, as is the ability to maintain composure and deliver exemplary service during busy times.
The Concierge at Sunrise of River Forest contributes directly to a safe, pleasant, and well-managed living environment by performing tasks such as preparing meal tickets, managing mail distribution, handling recruitment data entry, and supporting risk management initiatives. This comprehensive role requires a candidate who is both a proactive problem solver and a compassionate team player. Working as part of a dynamic, supportive team, the Concierge helps ensure that Sunrise residents and visitors receive the highest standard of hospitality and care, reflecting the company’s core principles of service and respect.
This is a rewarding position for individuals passionate about community engagement and senior care, offering a unique opportunity to be part of a respected and growing senior living organization. The role’s scope extends beyond front desk responsibilities, fostering a community-centric approach that supports every aspect of Sunrise’s mission to provide outstanding senior living experiences.
