The Concierge role at Sunrise Senior Living plays a critical position as the first point of contact and initial impression for all visitors, residents, and potential residents. This full-time position requires a friendly, professional, and organized individual who can warmly welcome guests, manage communications, and support community operations. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, managing phone calls, assisting with recruitment processes, maintaining the Bistro area, and performing a variety of administrative tasks to ensure a pleasant and efficient living environment. The Concierge also works closely with leadership including the Director of Sales and Executive Director to support sales efforts and community engagement.
This role requires excellent communication skills, customer service experience, and proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office and internal systems. The Concierge contributes to safety and risk management through vigilant monitoring of community entry and compliance with safety protocols, promoting the welfare of residents and staff. Additionally, the position supports marketing initiatives by assisting with inquiries and helping coordinate move-in processes. Job Requirements
- High school degree or GED
- Proven customer service experience
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office and internal Sunrise systems
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities
- Willingness to comply with occupational health and safety procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Must be able to perform administrative duties
- Ability to interact warmly and professionally with residents, families, and team members
- Willingness to participate in team engagement activities
- Ability to learn and follow all required training and regulatory compliance measures
- As applicable, must sign Driver job description and understand safety duties for driving Sunrise vehicles
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or GED
- Proven customer service experience and skills
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel) and Sunrise applications
- Ability to learn new applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational, time management, and follow-through skills
- Accurate record keeping skills
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Experience in a senior living or healthcare environment is a plus but not required
Job Duties
- Oversee the community entry area for visitors, guests, and residents, extending a warm welcome and greeting, offer and provide beverages to visitors and guests, ensure community safety protocols are in place
- Contact the Director of Sales, Executive Director, or Department Coordinator to meet with prospective residents, families, or visitors and minimize wait times
- Greet potential candidates interested in Sunrise careers, direct them to apply online or capture candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System
- Answer incoming telephone and resident calls promptly with appropriate community greetings and identification
- Take complete messages and communicate them to intended recipients
- Provide community overview to callers, determine and notify them of call transfers
- Manage appointments for residents and family members
- Send get well cards to residents in hospital, order Memory Flowers for deceased residents, send sympathy cards to families
- Order flowers and name plates for new residents prior to move-in
- Order guest meals for residents and families on move-in day
- Maintain marketing and move-in packet inventory
- Support Director of Sales with inquiry calls and Customer Relationship Management database
- Perform administrative duties related to resident move-in process
- Keep front desk and Bistro areas neat, ensure availability of refreshments and music, maintain popcorn machine
- Support community compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, promote safety programs and procedures
- Maintain resident and team member rosters and schedules for emergencies
- Respond to emergencies as per policy
- Ensure guests and residents sign in and out properly
- Maintain high-risk elopement list and monitor entry/exit points
- Update resident phone lists, move-in/out registers, guest logs
- Prepare and manage meal tickets and tally meal counts
- Collect and process meal ticket money per internal procedures
- Organize and distribute mail and newspapers
- Post daily menu on menu board
- Maintain miscellaneous credit forms
- Assist with recruitment data entry and administrative tasks
- Monitor and order office supplies
- Track and distribute team member paychecks
- Participate actively in team goals, demonstrate Team Member Credo, commit to resident service principles
- Engage in team member engagement surveys and improvement workshops
- Attend regular meetings
- Maintain compliance with required trainings and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
