Job Description
The Moorings of Arlington Heights is a distinguished part of Presbyterian Living, a not-for-profit senior living organization committed to providing a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. Established in 1904, Presbyterian Living has served diverse communities in Evanston, Lake Forest, and Arlington Heights, delivering compassionate care and fostering a supportive environment for residents, families, and employees alike. The Moorings of Arlington Heights embodies this legacy by creating a mission-driven community focused on wellness, independence, joy, and security for its residents. Recognized as a Great Place to Work, the organization prides itself on an inclusive, supportive workplace culture where collaboration, compassion, and shared expertise help employees thrive.
The role of Concierge at The Moorings of Arlington Heights is a part-time position within the Concierge Department, with shifts available from 8:00am to 2:00pm or 2:00pm to 7:00pm, five days a week. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.82 to $24.89 per hour, based on years of experience. The Concierge serves as a vital point of connection between residents, visitors, and staff, providing personalized service that aligns with the organization’s mission and values. This role is essential in ensuring a warm welcome to visitors and residents alike while facilitating smooth communication and efficient service throughout the community.
A Concierge at The Moorings is responsible for managing visitor sign-in processes, guiding guests to appropriate departments, answering and routing calls, and providing general information and directions. The role also includes administrative duties such as maintaining the Independent Living Census, handling admissions and discharges, and effectively communicating updates to relevant personnel. Additionally, Concierges manage deliveries—including packages, prescriptions, and flowers—by logging items and notifying residents for prompt pick-up. They also oversee guest suite reservations, collaborating with housekeeping and food service teams to ensure a seamless experience and proper checkout.
The position demands exceptional communication skills, professional phone etiquette, and computer literacy, alongside the capacity to work independently and manage special projects. A customer-service orientation is crucial, as is the ability to support and assist residents with comfort and professionalism. Adherence to a uniform dress code reflects the role’s commitment to maintaining a professional appearance. Joining The Moorings means becoming part of a people-centered culture that values you, supports you, and inspires you to grow through comprehensive benefits including health and wellness programs like Wellhub and onsite fitness, financial security offerings such as PTO rollover and 403(b) with match, and opportunities for growth through tuition reimbursement and mentorship.
If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact, building meaningful connections, and contributing to a workplace centered on care and community, The Moorings of Arlington Heights offers a unique environment where your best self can flourish. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a team that truly feels like family and make a difference that matters every day.
