This particular role is for a part-time Concierge Service position based at the Aurora West Allis Medical Center. This role is essential in creating the first and lasting positive impression for all guests, patients, and visitors to the facility. Working 24 hours weekly on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, the concierge is responsible for greeting customers, assessing their immediate needs, and providing assistance such as escorting patients to their destinations, helping with vehicle assistance, locating wheelchairs, or arranging transportation services. The role plays a critical part in maintaining smooth traffic flow at the entrances and ensuring customer parking needs are met, including valet service, tour buses, short-term visitor assistance, and transportation vouchers. This position demands excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a customer-oriented environment. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role requires standing, walking, and sometimes running for most of the workday, and the ability to handle exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Safety and cleanliness of working areas must be upheld, and any security or safety concerns promptly reported. Job Requirements
- High school graduate
- 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and problem solve
- Ability to stand, walk, and run for approximately 95 percent of the workday
- Ability to withstand exposure to weather elements 95 percent of the workday
- Ability to lift and push approximately 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population
- Ability to tolerate odors from auto emissions and gasoline
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to problem solve and work independently without direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to work a flexible, customer-oriented schedule
Job Duties
- Greet customers and assess their immediate needs
- Manage the first impression of the facility successfully
- Assist customers out of their vehicles, locate wheelchairs, provide directions, escort to destinations
- Pass customers to volunteers for escorts when possible
- Utilize admitting or other departments to verify destinations and remain with patients if they are alone or in wheelchairs
- Maintain smooth traffic flow at facility entrances
- Arrange parking needs including valet service, tour buses, short-term visitors, and assist with transportation needs such as taxi vouchers, bus passes, and van transport
