Job Requirements
- 21 years of age or above
- at least 2-3 years experience as a hotel concierge
- high school degree or equivalent
- general computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- must have experience with planning and project management
- outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- excellent attention to detail
- knowledge of union and non-union working environments preferred
- ability to read, analyze and interpret policies and procedures
- fluency in English
- ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence
- physical ability to perform required duties including lifting or maneuvering at least 30 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl as necessary
- ability to work varying schedules to meet business needs
- reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance required
Job Qualifications
- high school degree or equivalent
- bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred
- at least 2-3 years experience as a hotel concierge
- general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- experience with planning and project management
- outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
- excellent attention to detail
- knowledge of union and non-union working environments preferred
- membership in Les Clefs d'Or and The Greater Boston Concierge Association preferred
- ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals
- ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests
- fluency in English
- ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence
- effective presentation skills
- ability to compute basic mathematical calculations and create reports
- ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Job Duties
- ensure all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
- participate in the execution of short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and implement changes for improvement
- identify key drivers of success
- contribute to departmental performance, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of policies and procedures
- verify enforcement of internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and property-wide controls
- deliver and maintain a maximum level of service
- contribute to company-wide communication and best practices
- stay informed of new developments within the department
- balance multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines, often in stressful situations
- resolve guest issues according to established policies and procedures
- exhibit exceptional, detailed knowledge of local shopping, entertainment, dining, and business venues and special events
- maintain vendor relationships focused on quality, consistency, and cost
- utilize in-depth knowledge of amenities and attractions at Encore Boston Harbor and Greater Boston to provide outstanding guest experiences
- prioritize safety and adhere to department and company safety standards
- maintain knowledge of industry trends through continuing education and training
- assist guests with florist, courier, mail services, tours, tickets, reservations, and more
- collect and provide comprehensive information and coordinate guest requests regarding hotel services, sporting events, places of interest, restaurants, theater, airline transportation, tickets, limousine rentals, sightseeing tours, and related services
- understand and anticipate customer needs to provide personalized solutions
- perform any other job-related duties as assigned
