This role at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile is a part-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage & Culinary category, offering hourly pay ranging from $25.19 to $25.94. The position is essential to maintaining the high standards the hotel upholds, particularly focusing on cleanliness, organization, and smooth operational flow in event and banquet functions.

The incumbent will be responsible for completing the final breakdown of events, including cleaning rooms thoroughly, returning equipment to designated areas, and performing closing duties such as storing reusable goods securely and locking doors. The position requires keen attention to detail to monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization in service areas throughout the shift. These tasks are performed with a clean-as-you-go mentality to uphold safety and hygiene standards.

Another key responsibility includes handling linens correctly by transporting dirty linens to designated cleaning areas, separating napkins from tablecloths, and replenishing linen shelves with clean items. Flexibility is crucial, as the role also involves supporting other departments to deliver optimum guest service and accommodate dynamic operational needs. Candidates must adhere strictly to company policies and safety procedures, report any unsafe conditions, and complete necessary safety training and certifications.

The ability to engage professionally with guests and team members is vital, requiring clear and courteous communication, a welcoming attitude, and the initiative to anticipate and address guest needs. The job involves physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds independently and over 75 pounds with help), bending, twisting, and navigating various surfaces, underscoring the need for good physical stamina.

Marriott offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan, earned paid time off and/or sick leave, stock purchase options, discounts at Marriott properties, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, childcare discounts, and wellness initiatives. These benefits are subject to eligibility criteria and aim to support associates’ overall well-being, both professionally and personally.
