Job Description

The hiring establishment is a senior living community dedicated to providing an elevated way of life for seniors, emphasizing comfort, connection, and joy. The position available is for a Concierge who will report to the Business Office Manager and is classified as an hourly role. The Concierge plays a vital part in shaping the first impression of the community for visitors, residents, family members, and staff. The role calls for a highly personable and organized individual responsible for greeting visitors, arranging property tours, managing multi-line telephone systems, and providing various clerical support tasks to the administrative team. The Concierge acts as a central point of contact within the community, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and that interactions are handled professionally and efficiently.

The Concierge’s responsibilities include assisting residents and visitors by addressing their general requests, directing them appropriately within the property, and maintaining a professional and inviting reception area. This individual must be knowledgeable about the community’s services and programming to effectively communicate relevant information and support the property’s marketing efforts. The role also involves administrative duties such as handling incoming and outgoing mail, preparing office materials, and occasionally providing support in the dining room. A critical aspect of the position is maintaining a safe environment, promptly communicating any resident health concerns, and fostering teamwork among staff through cooperative and respectful interactions.

This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to multitask in a busy environment, and a friendly demeanor that aligns with the community’s mission of enhancing senior living. The job involves physical demands such as standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, and performing various movements including bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching. Candidates must be able to work indoors and outdoors and exhibit patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm in their role. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • able to read, write, and understand the English language, and follow written or oral instructions
  • able to make independent decisions and remain calm during emergency situations
  • able to deal professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • knowledgeable of administrative practices, processes, and guidelines
  • experience using computer software (Microsoft)
  • have patience, professionalism, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm
  • willing to handle residents, staff, and visitors at different maturity levels

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors seeking information about the property
  • be responsive to the needs of people who inquire about the property and/or who are in the building for meetings with administrative personnel
  • direct visitors to appropriate office or resident apartment
  • assist residents, family members, and guests with general requests
  • arrange for tours of the property for individuals making spontaneous visits or those that have made an appointment for the tour
  • answer telephones, record and channel information
  • display knowledge of the services and programs and other pertinent information regarding the property
  • manage mail meter, stamps, making copies, and other tasks related to office operations
  • process incoming mail, sort property mail and distribute mail to mailboxes
  • maintain reception area in a neat and orderly fashion including refreshing property literature and refreshments
  • perform clerical duties for property staff as directed by supervisor
  • provide assistance in the dining room serving resident meals as requested
  • support marketing efforts through positive interaction during tours and telephone contact
  • communicate any suspected resident changes to supervisor immediately
  • maintain a safe work environment following established safety standards
  • encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments
  • support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • perform other duties consistent with the position as assigned
