Job Description
White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community located in the scenic and vibrant area of La Jolla, California, stands as a premier continuing care retirement community (CCRC) dedicated to providing exceptional senior living experiences. As part of HumanGood, the largest nonprofit owner and operator of senior living communities in California and one of the most influential in the nation, White Sands offers a supportive, nurturing environment where residents can thrive and live life to the fullest. HumanGood’s mission is to empower seniors to become their best selves through compassionate care, innovative services, and an inclusive atmosphere that respects each individual's unique journey and preferences.
White Sands prides itself on a holistic approach to senior living, combining high-quality amenities, personalized care plans, and a vibrant community culture. It is more than just a place to live; it’s a place to belong, to connect, and to grow. The community’s beautiful surroundings in La Jolla only enhance the experience, offering residents an inspiring setting alongside excellent programs and services designed to promote health, wellness, and social engagement.
We are currently seeking a dedicated part-time Concierge to join our team. This role is critical in shaping the resident and visitor experience at White Sands. Working primarily on Thursday and Friday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed, the Concierge represents the frontline of our hospitality and customer service efforts. With a pay range of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, this part-time position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a thriving community while balancing your work-life schedule.
The Concierge is responsible for greeting residents, families, potential residents, visitors, and vendors warmly and professionally. They manage both external and internal communications, ensuring messages are accurately taken and relayed. This role also includes documenting resident care updates, departmental changes, and important incident reports during shift handoffs to maintain seamless continuity of care and operations.
In addition, the Concierge supports marketing and sales efforts by providing community information and assisting with daily resident services such as transportation coordination, mail handling, and visitor management. Monitoring the Resident Safety System (Arial) and security cameras is also part of the role, ensuring a secure environment for everyone in the community.
To thrive in this role, candidates should bring at least one year of administrative experience in a medical setting, strong customer service skills, and proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The ability to occasionally work evenings and holidays is needed to meet the evolving needs of the community.
At HumanGood and White Sands, our core values are passion, inclusion, courage, innovation, and impact. New team members are welcomed into a culture that emphasizes these traits, inspiring everyone to contribute to a mission larger than themselves.
Joining White Sands means joining a community committed to enriching lives. HumanGood offers an impressive benefits package for both part-time and full-time team members, including medical benefits starting immediately after the start date, 401(k) matching, and a comprehensive suite of health and wellness resources. Our team members enjoy opportunities for personal and professional growth in a supportive and rewarding environment.
Come be a part of White Sands and HumanGood, where your work truly makes a difference in the lives of seniors and the community at large. Join us in this meaningful mission and experience the fulfillment that comes with being part of the largest nonprofit senior living operator in California.
