Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • Experience in 4 Diamond rated hotel preferred
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends
  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, running
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
  • Able to communicate effectively in English
  • Spanish preferred
  • Able to deal with internal and external guests using patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Maintain regular attendance according to handbook policies
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in elevated guest service in 4-5 Diamond or 4-5 Star hotels highly preferred
  • Strong team player and ability to motivate a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Proficient in basic computer hardware and software including word processing and internet browsers
  • Knowledge of front office operations and hotel check-in/check-out procedures
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to handle special guest requests with professionalism
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members
  • Experience with handling VIP and club lounge guest service
  • Understanding of Marriott standards and procedures
  • Ability to document and log relevant information accurately
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service consistently

Job Duties

  • Welcome guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner always using the guests' name
  • Gather, summarize, and advise guests about the hotel and the area
  • Stay current on local events, attractions, and happenings in Orange County
  • Promote hotel outlets including restaurants, bars, marketplace, and club lounge
  • Make restaurant and tour reservations upon request
  • Anticipate guest requests and requirements to satisfy them efficiently and promptly
  • Research and coordinate arrangements for guests' special requests
  • Respond to guest requests in under 24 hours and always follow up to ensure satisfaction
  • Communicate professionally and clearly in person, over the phone, or through email
  • Monitor guest requests, follow up on requests, and check for satisfaction
  • Work with vendors to provide additional services for guests such as transportation, surf lessons, tours, and tickets for events/parks
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others to help reach common goals
  • Assist guests with inquiries and offer suggestions regarding trips and excursions
  • Arrange transportation, limousines, and special requests including flowers, amenities, and rental cars
  • Verify arrival and departure times and arrange transportation
  • Ensure delivery of parcels and mail to guest rooms
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to maintain public areas clean and tidy
  • Interact with other departments to ensure that guests’ needs are satisfied
  • Perform front office duties such as check-in/check-out and processing payments
  • Communicate VIP arrivals to designated personnel for escort and amenities delivery
  • Work closely with department leaders to ensure high-end amenity offerings are provided
  • Document pertinent information in logbook
  • Provide guest room and site tours
  • Welcome guests into Club Lounge and provide elevated service
  • Maintain fitness studio cleanliness and supplies
  • Facilitate branded programming including family activities
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Report and communicate supplies needed or safety concerns
  • Assist other departments and perform duties assigned by management
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and Marriott standards
  • Perform all cashiering procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Communicate information regarding hotel facilities, special activities, and directions
  • Maintain professional communication and demeanor at all times.
